Crossbank Dental Care in Kendal collaborated with the Cumbria Wildlife Trust and planned a new activity in dental practice named ‘Implant a Tree Initiative’ for every dental implant given to patients. This dental practice is awarded a green benchmark certification, and the professionals are recognized as green pioneers in the dentistry sector. A tree plantation will help reduce pollution and soil erosion and revolutionize the climate remarkably.

In England, the Government planned for the 2023 NHS Longterm Workforce Plan to expand dentistry training facilities in England by 24% to 1,000 places by 2028/2029 and 40% to 1,100 places by 2031/2032. In June 2022, about 36.9% of adults visited NHS dentists in England, and this proportion was 40.7% in June 2023 and 50.9% in September 2019, respectively. The Second area focuses on improving dental therapy student funding, which is aligned with government dentistry workforce plans from Health Education England (HEE), and the third area is related to securing capital funding for suitable infrastructure.

The Scottish Government aims to deliver better oral health by ensuring sustainable NHS dentistry, addressing the backlog of unmet dental care needs, preventing oral health inequalities, improving access to vulnerable groups, and integrating oral health with the public. Apart from this, the Northern Ireland Government targets better oral health for the older population and children, and an updated oral health strategy for Northern Ireland guides it. It also aims to deliver a dental workforce plan with a ‘people-first approach.’ The Government of Wales aims to understand the service problems to monitor the effectiveness of future remedies. The Welsh Government focuses on expanding the workforce and increasing funding opportunities.
