Waterpik Launches Sensonic Complete Care

Waterpik announced the launch of its new toothbrush with advanced features and modes. The American Dental Association approved this new orthodontic product named Sensonic Complete Care. It combines the Sensonic Toothbrush and Waterpik water flosser and offers PrecisionPulse Technology and specialized flossing tips provided by the ADA-accepted system. These two features enable plaque removal and enhance gum health which makes this product a highly efficient tool to use at home for oral care. It has multiple cleaning modes, including cleaning, stain removal, and gum care. The flossing tips of the water flosser provide 360-degree tip rotation and 10 water pressure settings. Each flossing tip of the water flosser is designed to address the specific dental needs of the patients related to implant dentures, orthodontic for braces, plaque seeker for crowns and bridges, and precision for general use. The precision pulse technology enables the effective removal of bacteria with the help of water pressure and pulsations that improve gum health more precisely than manual brushing.

According to the American College of Prosthodontics, over 120 million people in the United States are missing at least one tooth. The college held the National Prosthodontics Awareness Week from 23rd to 29th April 2023. The efforts were taken to connect local prosthodontists with the community. Prosthodontists are dental professionals who are well-qualified, trained, and experienced to restore and replace missing or damaged teeth. The prosthetic solutions like dental implants, veneers, and dentures are utilized by prosthodontists to improve the oral health of patients which will enhance their quality of life. The American College of Prosthodontics consists of more than 3,900 international members and affiliates including prosthodontists, dental technicians and dental students, dental professionals, and specialty residents.

According to the Health Policy Institute of the American Dental Association, national dental expenditures have decreased by 6.3% from $176 billion in 2021 to $165 billion in 2022. Furthermore, the share of dental spending from government programs has increased from 13% to 17% from 2019 to 2022. One of the recent 2023 reports of the Simpladent clinics states that implant rehabilitation has high success rates of 84-92% when enough bone is available in the maxilla. Henry Schein Inc., Mitsui Chemicals Inc., and ZimVive Inc. are some of the major companies in the dental prosthetics market.

In the U.S., the dental prosthetics market size is calculated at USD 1.54 billion in 2023 and is expected to hit around USD 3.64 billion by 2033, with a remarkable growth to USD 1.66 billion in 2024 estimated to grow at a CAGR of 8.14% from 2024 to 2034.

One of the research studies on dental prosthetics held in 2022 reported that the 60 years of age or older people will be 600 million by 2025 and there will be 2 billion elderly people by 2050 living in 80% of industrialized countries. A project titled ‘Promoting Oral Health in Nepal’s Most Remote and Underserved Areas is a campus-to-community school-based program. It aims to enhance the oral health habits of school children by training teachers and community health workers. The trained people should conduct daily toothbrushing programs in rural areas under their supervision. It also aims to assess and expand community engagement through oral health promotion activities.
